The Blog, The Store, The Woman

The Blog

I started this blog back in 2018 with the intention of sending a little more love and encouragement out into the world. The idea was simple enough—to share inspiring, motivating, and encouraging bits and bobbles, anecdotes, and perhaps the wisdom of some of the lessons I’ve picked up while fluttering along the happy accident trail of life. My original intentions continue to be my (somewhat lofty) goal for this blog.

Despite having gotten lost a time or two (or three or four… depression and anxiety give *really* bad directions), it looks like the path I’m on is bringing me back around for another trip. Maybe this time we can keep each other company on the trail for a few miles or more.

So, what is Seranndipity? A quirky word play on serendipity that incorporates my name. Not familiar with serendipity? It’s the gold of romantic comedies! Well, sort of, but technically it’s defined by Merriam-Webster as “the faculty or phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for,” or an instance of such.

Simply put, serendipity is a happy accident—nothing more, nothing less—but always something for which to be grateful.

“There is always another layer of awareness, understanding, and delight to be discovered through synchronistic and serendipitous events.” — Hannelie Venucia

The Store

The store is a new experimental feature I added during my most recent site redesign. It is my hope that in curating and/or creating items for the store I will also successfully expand on opportunities to inspire, motivate, encourage, and perhaps even amuse you (and myself too) while also helping this site to become self-supporting.

It’s going to start off with just a few print-on-demand items and we’ll see where it goes. Your support, whether in the form of shopping the store or sharing products and other site links on social media, will always be *incredibly and sincerely* appreciated!

The blog and the store (well, and the woman herself too!) are woman-owned and operated.

The Woman

My name is Ann (which you may have picked up on already). I am a neurodiverse on-again/off-again freelance writer, graphic design dabbler, obsessive WordPress website re-designer, lifelong anxiety and depression warrior, and (sometimes recovering, other times not-so-recovering) perfectionist. I do some of this and some of that—an Ann-of-all-trades some might say.

My three grown children (usually) call me mom. My 15-year-old doggo doesn’t call me anything, but she grunts a lot if I don’t give her some of whatever I may be eating.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. Sometimes I’m proud of that. Other times I’m embarrassed because it took me nearly 29 years and five major changes to get it done, but then I remind myself that no two journeys are the same and that mine just happened to have a lot of detours and other hurdles. It was a hard-earned achievement and I have every reason to be proud.

You’ve all seen this meme going around over the years, right? Almost nothing is ever as it seems, and perspective always matters.

Image is not my own. I picked it up on Facebook at some point. Credit remains with original (unknown) creator.
