Taking it back a bit old-school this week with Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”
First released as a single back in 1984, it was Twisted Sister’s only Top 40 single. There’s no denying the song’s notoriety as an anthem of teenage rebellion–and by extension, rebellion in general.
It came up on the radio the other day in the car (yes, I still listen to regular old radio in the car sometimes!), and I just felt like it was a fitting song. I try really hard to not bring politics onto this blog, but wherever you lie in the political spectrum it’s hard to overlook that there’s a lot of turmoil out there in the world. Everyone’s rebelling against something, and “We’re Not Gonna Take It” definitely holds the power to fuel the masses–and it’s GREAT to sing along with!
